From Laura’s story: “To add to my confusion, he would constantly tell me he had no conscience and that I was stronger than he thought.”
How creepy! My abuser said the same thing to me.

Textbook! These people are textbook. My ex said to me once, “You think I’m garbage, don’t you? I’m trash to you.” I found it sad that he would even suggest I thought such a thing. Made me feel horrible and wonder to myself what could have happened to him to make him think such things about himself. Today, I understand that the only thing that happened to him was that he was born without a conscience, and he absolutely is trash. I do not and won’t apologize for feeling that way, either. Keeps me shielded from him and others like him.
