Those untouched by a narcissistic rage find it hard to understand that a narcissist is driven by the awareness of his own emptiness not his perceived grandiosity. Wonderful insight, Kimberly!!

  1. This is SO beautiful. Hauntingly beautiful in its clarity and truth. The part about knowing the secret is so heartbreaking because until we get that close, until I loved so much that I got close enough to see that there was no self, only then did I know so well, so intimately, the dark sad sick secret of this person.

This is one of the most beautiful and deeply touching poems I’ve ever read. Knowing the secret too, as horrible as it was to finally see, was my way out. Yes, and I found that ignoring him was my very best weapon and the key to my freedom. Let him stare at that water forever until he falls in and drowns!

Thank you, Paula for reposting this, and thank you Kimberly for giving us this amazing insight. (Did you write this?? I am so impressed by the writing of it)

    • She writes all of her own poetry and creates her visual art, too. You should follow her blog, Linda. I think you’d really like it. 🙂

  3. That’s good insight right there. Maybe I need to impose some silent treatment of my own.

  4. Well said and very helpful. Sometimes we get stuck on what everyone else thinks and says and don’t use our own logic.
